Camera Obscura - Isle Of Man - Douglas
Bespoke Fire Protection Systems
Originally built in 1887, the camera obscura at Douglas Head on the Isle of Man burnt down shortly afterwards. Its current incarnation the "Great Union Camera" was opened in the 1890's and came into the possession of the Isle of Man Government in the 1990's. It has served as a unique way to enjoy the surrounding headland views for over 100 years now.
Due to its historical importance and ongoing value as a tourist attraction it was decided that an automatic fire protection system was pertinent. AM Fire Systems carried out the design, installation, testing and commissioning of a deluge system over two levels to protect this historical monument.
Bespoke projects including listed buildings are areas that AM Fire Systems specialise in, as we are perfectly equipped to explore all avenues in order to tailor any fire protection to suit the individual job no matter how big or small.
